Reality

So here are a few pictures I have been waiting to post for about 2 years now. The distribution well is fully functional now. The guys pressed hard and managed to get the whole system up and running. There are a few polishing features to be done yet, but fresh water will be given away all summer long to the thirsty for free! I am so grateful to God today for what He has done! I will write more later about a few details, but for now, enjoy the pictures. Some dreams do become reality, this is one very big one for us. Stay tuned! Blessings.

P.S. The guys are safely home, arrived in T.C. yesterday afternoon, tired, but joyful!

Distribution Well

I have waited and waited to be able to post this important message. We now have a distribution well in St. Marc at the church property. It is a 73' deep 4" well with a 115 volt submersible pump. The guys have worked hard and long in extraordinary heat to pull this off. It has been a journey to get here, and I must say, I am thrilled. I know the Haitians around our community are excited too. They were trying to drink the water before it was even completely clear and treated. They trust it more knowing that it is coming from so far down in the ground. It will change so much, distributing fresh drinking water, something we take so for granted here, is life-saving there! The guys are going to try to get the tank system in place and the actual distribution valving set up, to give away at least 500 gallons of fresh drinking water every day. The well running full time is capable of at least 15,000 gallons of water a day! That's almost a quarter of a million glasses of water a day. That's what I call potential! God is good, we are blessed. And tonight we rejoice in this victory for our Haitian family and for all who have supported this endeavor with their prayers, finances, and even getting on the ground with us in Haiti! We couldn't do this without your wonderful help and the strength God gives us for the journey! Blessings from a happy heart!

Drilling, drilling, drilling

Just a quick update to let you all know that my dad and Kelly are back in St. Marc working on the distribution well. This trip is all about drilling for water. They are now down 60' with 40' of casing set. They are currently drilling in clay, which is a little slow going with a cable tool rig. That said, it is still going very well. They said the temperature is very hot right now. We are headed swiftly toward the summer months when it will be sweltering for cold blooded Michigan folks! I always comment on how hot is it there when I am in the country, but Kelly says I don't know what hot is yet! Of course this is coming from the boy who loves snow! Keep them in your prayers, we are hoping to get two wells on this trip, but this is Haiti that we are talking about, so one never knows. Kelly is trying to purchase a water tank for the bathroom facility at the church property so they can have water even when the pump is not running. One of the guys will plumb it up for us once it is in place. The tower stand for it is already set, so it shouldn't take much to get it finished. Blessings always.
